Budget Meal Planner With an Estimated Grocery Total

Nutrinity asks you to pick a budget tier per person, per meal during setup and plans your meals around it. The plan becomes one shopping list for the store you pick, with an estimated total. Pantry items stay off the list, so you only buy what’s missing.

How does Nutrinity plan around a budget?

  • Budget per meal. Setup offers three tiers per person, per meal: $5–8, $9–15 and $16+. Pick the closest. The plan is built around that tier.
  • Repeats. You can let the plan repeat meals, which usually means fewer different ingredients to buy.
  • Your store. Pick a grocery store near your ZIP code, address or location. The list shows an estimated total for the store you pick.
  • Your pantry. Anything you already have stays off the list. See the pantry-aware planner.

How do I meal plan on $75 a week?

Nutrinity’s setup asks for a budget per person, per meal, with three tiers: $5–8, $9–15 and $16+; there’s no tier under $5. Turn your weekly number into a per-meal number to see where you land against them: divide your weekly budget by the meals you plan each week, then by the number of people you feed.

Weekly budgetPeopleEach meal, for each person
$501about $2.38
$751about $3.57
$1001about $4.76

$1002about $2.38
$1504about $1.79

Every figure in this table is under $5, below Nutrinity’s lowest tier. Pick $5–8 in setup, and expect the estimated total to come out above your weekly number. To get the most from that tier: lean on what’s already in your pantry, let meals repeat so you buy fewer different ingredients, and favor cheap staples like rice, beans and eggs. Compare the estimated total with your weekly number before you shop, and trim what you buy in store if it runs high. If you cook fewer meals, divide by the meals you cook.
