Mealime is closing. Here's where to go next.

Mealime closes on October 21, 2026. Its accounts and saved recipes are deleted, and its replacement lives inside one grocery chain’s apps. If you want a simple weekly plan and one grocery list for the store you actually shop at, Nutrinity is one place to go. This page says what it does, what it does not do yet and how to switch.

What is happening to Mealime?

Mealime’s closing notice says: “Mealime will be discontinued as of October 21, 2026.” It says Mealime was acquired by Albertsons Companies in 2021, that all personal data is deleted at shutdown, and that its users are moving to Meals Hub, available in Albertsons Companies grocery apps. It also says Mealime’s paid subscriptions are winding down, and that all Pro recipes and features are available to all Mealime users until then.

Those are Mealime’s words. We read the notice on October 4, 2026, and we say nothing more about Meals Hub than that. If there is no store from that chain near you, a plan that lives inside its apps may not help you.

What does Nutrinity do?

Nutrinity is an iPhone app that plans your meals and your grocery list. These are the things people tell us they want from a meal planner.

  • Works with the store near you. Enter your ZIP code, address or location and pick a store. Nutrinity builds one grocery list for that store, sorted by aisle.
  • The price of your cart, before you shop. You set a budget per meal. The list shows an estimated total for the store you pick. Prices in the store can differ.
  • Planned around your allergies. List your allergies in setup. Nutrinity checks every ingredient in every meal, and checks again when you swap a meal. Labels and recipes change, so always read the label. See how we handle allergies.
  • 7 or 14 days of meals. You choose the length. A plan has dinners, and breakfast, lunch and snacks if you want them.
  • Simple weeknight meals. Tell setup how much time you have to cook on weekdays and on weekends, and the plan uses it.
  • Swap a meal, keep your list. Swap a meal and the grocery list updates. Items you already bought stay checked off. It does not start over.
  • Check off what you already have. Tell Nutrinity what is in your pantry and mark “I have this” on the list.
  • Cook mode with step timers. Each recipe shows one step at a time, and a step that names a time gets a timer.

What does Nutrinity not have yet?

Mealime did these well, and Nutrinity does not do them yet.

  • Android and a web app. Mealime had both. Nutrinity runs on iPhone with iOS 17 or later.
  • A hands-free cooking mode. Mealime’s lets you wave a hand over the screen to move to the next step. Nutrinity has step-by-step cooking and timers, but no hands-free control.
  • Servings for a household. Mealime scaled recipes for 2, 4 or 6. Nutrinity plans for one person for now.
  • A longer dislike list and more diets. Mealime lets you pick from 124 ingredients to skip and has 8 diets. Nutrinity has 12 dislike choices plus a note, and 5 diets.
  • Favorites and importing recipes. Mealime had favorites and could import recipes from a web page. Nutrinity does not yet, so it cannot bring your Mealime recipes over. Tell us which ones you miss: email support@nutrinity.app.
  • A slow-cooker and Instant Pot filter. Setup asks what equipment you have, and the plan leaves out meals that need equipment you lack. There is no filter that picks slow-cooker meals.
  • Swaps on any day. You can swap today’s meals. Other days are view-only.
  • Grocery ordering. Nutrinity does not order or deliver groceries. You shop with your list.

How do I switch?

  1. Save what Mealime knows about you before October 21. Your diet, your allergies and the foods you skip. Copy any recipe you want to keep into Notes or another app, because Mealime says saved data is deleted at shutdown.
  2. Get Nutrinity. Join the waitlist. Setup asks about your diet, allergies, dislikes, cuisines, kitchen, cooking time and budget per meal. Add your allergies first.
  3. Pick your store and build a plan. Enter your ZIP code, address or location, choose a store, and Nutrinity builds your meals and one grocery list for that store. See how the grocery list works.

If you liked quick recipes and a merged list, Nutrinity, Eat This Much and Samsung Food (with Food+) build a weekly plan for you. Mealime had you pick recipes from suggestions, so it sits in between.

If you built your own week, Plan to Eat and Paprika will feel closest. In both, you choose every recipe yourself. If you are also weighing Samsung Food, see Samsung Food alternatives.

If you need Android or a web app, Nutrinity is not the right fit today. Eat This Much and Samsung Food run on both.

Mealime vs Eat This Much: which is closer?

Mealime offered quick weekly recipes with an organized grocery list. Eat This Much plans meals to hit daily calorie and macro targets. Its free plan plans one day at a time; weekly planning is in Premium. Nutrinity shows calories and macros on every meal and makes one list for your store. More detail in Eat This Much alternative.
